FREEDOM!!!!

Freedom comes in the way of a rental car!!!  AND we signed the lease on our villa today (move in next Tuesday).  I couldn't resist taking a picture of the little, tiny cans of pop (150 ML) that we found at the supermarket-- you have to totally love Krispy Kreme donuts!!

Ladies Day Out

My friend and I took a trip out to Amwaj Island to meet up with a bunch of teachers.  We enjoyed a fun filled afternoon getting pedicures and taking a boat tour out on the gulf.  We even got to see Michael Jackson's house (which was taken back by the Prince)---It's the second to the last picture!  What a beautiful day!!

At the Pool - Beautiful View

First Vacation Day

Another beautiful day in a beautiful country!  Laid by the pool for a couple of hours, then Cayci (and Daddy!!) actually took a nap (while Logan hung out with the girls upstairs), then took another adventure.  We decided to go to one of the malls in Bahrain.  It was beautiful!  Expensive, but did have some of the favorite stores I love (Gymboree, Areopostle... and TONS of kids clothing and toy stores!  I told everyone that everyone LOVES kids here!

Lazy day by the pool with good friends

We are officially on vacation for the holiday Eid.  Teachers are off until Thursday (we only work one day)... kids are off all week.  Then they come back for three days, and then they are off again for 2 days for parent/teacher conferences.  Today we enjoyed the hotel pool with good friends!  Beautiful 90 degree weather - anyone stateside jealous??!!  We also got to see our house again today, and they are coming along nicely-- For those of you who are praying people - please pray hard that we get our advance so we can actually move in this week!!!  As you can see by the last picture - Cayci crashed hard!  At 6:00!!!

Bahrain - Halloween Style!

Kids got to come to school dressed up for Halloween, and we enjoyed a wonderful party with games:  bobbing for donuts, witches stew, and another game like musical chairs with a twist!  So much fun!  Cayci had a great time at her party, too!!  A special thank-you to one of the other 3rd grade teachers (Erin Jensvold) for lending Cayci a monarch butterfly costume!  Who would've thought that Bahrain would celebrate Halloween??

First Bahrain Field Trip

The three third grade classes enjoyed a fun-filled day at Al Areen Wildlife Park last Sunday.  What a beautiful day, and so fun to see all the African/Arabian animals!!!  It's especially nice to know that I can take my wonderful class on a field trip - actually all three classes of 3rd graders! - and we had beautiful behavior all day long!!!!  (Eric's class got to go the week before, but he didn't take the camera---)
